Anyone Up For Some Hemp?
It's that time again. Yes, time for the annual Hempfest. The two-day festival kicked off on a beautiful sunny Saturday along the shores of the sound in downtown Seattle. Thousands of people were there to attend the free event (donations were appreciated and used to help paid for the annual event) that was filled with a lingering odor, live music, lots of good eating, pipe vendors, hemp clothing stands, smoking accessories, and everything else you can imagine that can be done to hemp. Hempfest, Summer of 2007, Seattle, WA.

The Black Cat Ladies Are On Grass
I have no idea what the story was for these theatrical ladies, but I thought they were really cool. Hempfest, Summer of 2007, Seattle, WA.

Some People Smoke Two Joints Before They Smoke Two Joints,
And Then They Smoke Two More

I think it's pretty obvious that this lady was really BIG on the subject of smoking pot. Need I say more. Hempfest, Summer of 2007, Seattle, WA.

Good Eat'n
These band of beauties cool off as the day gets hotter by treating themselves to some ice cream and fruit on a stick. It sure does look delicious! Hempfest, Summer 2007, Seattle, WA.

Just Chill'n In The Shade
It was hot and sunny during the early part of this year's Hempfest. So shade was a very valuable commodity. These lovely ladies managed. Summer of 2007, Seattle, WA.

The Flower Child
This is just of the many throw-backs of the 60s' "flower child". I thought she was one of the better ones. She ran around the grounds dancing and acting like she was high on life. She also wore the outfit well. Rod Steward would had been proud. Hempfest, Summer 0f 2007, Seattle, WA.

Hot Chick And The Drummer Boy
He actually made all that plastic and glass sound pretty good. Hempfest, Summer of 2007, Seattle, WA.

If We Don't Got It, You Don't Need It!
There were scores of vendors selling pipes like these throughout the grounds at this year's Hempfest. Some the craftmanship was really good. Summer of 2007, Seattle, WA.

Human Emotion
No, these ladies are not stone. At least I don't think they were...They're actually dancing to music coming from a nearby disco music stand. I thought the guy in the middle was odd, in that, all he did the whole time was just stand there and stare at the girls dancing around him. Hempfest, Summer of 2007, Seattle, WA.

Not Only For The Enthusiast
Lot of hemp-made clothing were on sell throughout the grounds at this year's Hempfest. I thought these t-shirts were nicely done. Hempfest, Summer of 2007, Seattle, WA.

No More Drug War!
This musical group was rocking away at center stage. I thought they sounded good. They had a lot of energy and played with a lot enthusiasm. I also, thought the big hanging joint rolled up in Stars and Stripes was pretty funny. Hempfest, Summer of 2007, Seattle, WA.

Find Your Place In The Sun
Even the "Visit Goths" managed to get out before dark to make an appearance at this year's Hempfest. Summer of 2007, Seattle, WA.

Where Do They All Belong?
I guess it plain to see who wears the pants in their household. Hempfest, Summer of 2007, Seattle, WA.

Passing It
There was a lot of this going on along the shore of the sound during Hempfest 2007. If you look closely, I believe you might see a "plumber's crack". Summer of 2007, Seattle, WA.

Ladies In Gray
I never did find out what these colorful characters were all about. I just thought they were note worthy by their make up and gray and fury outfits. Hempfest, Summer 2007, Seattle, WA.

Not Just Humans Come Here

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
I guess this odd dual might have something in common. They both appear to be bored, at least to me. Pike Place Farmer's Market, downtown Seattle during Hempfest 2007. Summer of 2007, Seattle, WA.

The Dog And The Bouncing Ball
A first this little guy was reluctant to go in the water to retrieve his ball, but after a while you couldn't get him out of the water. Summer of 2007, Bark Park, Marymoor Park, Redmond, WA.

"Can I help it if I like to socialize?" Comet was leshed because she kept wandering off into the other camp sites. She would get into their food and who knows what. All-in-all, she behaved fairly well and most of the other campers generally seem to liked her. Summer of 2007, Tinkham, WA.

A lazy moment alone the peaceful banks of the Danny Creek near the Tinkham Campground right off of I-90 near the Snoqualmie Pass in the Wenatchee National Forest high up in the Cascade Mountains. Summer of 2007, Tinkham Campground, WA.

"Little Jack-Russells and I don't care..." Comet didn't want to have anything to do with this pack of J-Russells at the bark park in Marymoor Park. In fact, since this photo was taken, Comet has been back to the park and each time she behaved as if she didn't want to have anything to do with the other dogs. She stayed at my side like a flee on a hound dog which is very uncharacteristic of Comet. As a result, I'll probably never take her back to the bark park again. Summer of 2007, Redmond, WA.

The world-famous US Navy "Blue Angels" let out their rolling-thunder as they pass over the Velodrome at Marymoor Park while on their way to do their airshow over Lake Washington as part of the event at the annual "SeaFair" Festival. Summer 2007, Redmond, WA.

A watered-down dog watches from the cool waters of the Sammamish River that flows through the bark park in Marymoor Park. This bark park is perhaps the bigger one I have ever been in. But, that's not saying a whole lot because I've only been to two so far in my life. Summer of 2007, Redmond WA.

After playing with the other dogs at the Dog Voice Control Area (off leash)in Marymoor Park, Comet and I found a desserted spot off the beaten path so that Comet could get a cool drink from the Sammamish River. In the upper right of the photo were beautiful lilly pads, but they didn't quite come out in this photo. Too bad, because they were beautiful. Summer 2007, Redmond, WA.
