Before I ever even got to South Dakota, I had not idea that I would spend three days in Keystone SD. On top of that, I had no idea that there was so much to do in this area. I was in deed pleasantly surprise.
After three long hours of driving through the hot central part of South Dakota, the pups and I finally reached Rapid City and The Black Hills. Along with our arrival came a mean thunder storm. The once cleared sky suddenly turned darked and gray releasing lots of thunder and rain.
I drove right through Rapid City and ascended immediately into the Black Hills. I was desperate to find a nice place that would except pets. Much to my surprise, I found the perfect place. For the first time since my journey began, I would be staying in a cabin. The people were extremely friendly. Never before had I felt so relaxed with my surrounding of where I was staying. The cabin was clean, quiet, the price was fair, and the location could not have been better. I was right in the middle of everything I had planned on seeing in days to follow. The cool thing about this area is that everything is relatively close. The only problem is that you have to drive through mountain terrian winding roads. Which means that sometimes it can take an hour to drive 10 miles.
The next day was going to be a long one. My plan was to visit Mt. Rushmore, see the buffalo roam at Custer State Park, and then vist The Crazy Horse Monument.
