My first stop in South Dakota - Chamberlain, SD

After leaving Northfield MN, I spent the night in Chamberlain SD which is located right along the mighty Missouri River. Again, it was just another quiet little mid-western town, though it was beautiful place. The next morning before continuing on to the Black Hills National Park, I decided to visit The Akta Lakota Museum just up the road from where I stayed.

Much to my Surprise, this was by far the best Plains Indian museum I have ever seen, including The National Museum of The American Indian in DC. The sad thing was that cameras were not allowed inside the museum. Which was a real shame. There was so much cool stuff to see. And the way the museum was set up, was very well done. I'd recommend to anyone to see this museum.

Next stop Keystone, SD inside The Black Hills National Park.
