Before The $700 Billion Bailout
Almost a year earlier before the congress bailout of Wall street and the banks, the feds also bailed out those financial institutions involved in hedge funding that when under. Apparently, that effort didn't work too well.

Riding Out the Storm
I had to ride out hurricane Ike when it hit Texas in late summer of 2008. Miraculously, I was still able to do the cartoon and deliver it well before deadline. Comet (the beagle in most of the cartoons) and I made it through the storm better than most. We had no damage at all and were without power for only a couple of days. Again, we were very lucky, for there many who got it whole lot worst. Particularly, those who lost their lives.

Paris Hilton To The Rescue
This cartoon was by far the most popular cartoon I have done so far. And oddly enough, the idea was also mind. It was during the time when the whole world, particularly the United States was so captivated with the fact that Paris Hilton was doing time for drunk driving. I notice that on the news and everywhere I went that all everyone seem to be focusing on was Paris Hilton. It was like, what happen to the war in Iraq, especially when things were going so badly over there. Then, it dawned on me. President Bush must be loving this which then gave me the idea for the cartoon.

It's Always Good To Have A Back Up Plan
In mid-spring of 2007, the Whitefish fire department was out on the partially frozen Whitefish lake practicing emergency rescue exercises in their new hover craft that was donated to them by the Swift family of Whitefish. Unfortunately during the exercise, the craft capt side and had to be towed to shore. Interesting enough, I just happen to be at Whitefish lake just minutes after the incident happened. It was my birthday, April 7th, and it was a rare warm and beautiful day for that time of year. So I decided to venture out and take some photos. Also, this was another one of those incidents where the paper got flack for running this kind of cartoon in the paper. It seems that some one didn't particularly like the image of the overalls, beer drinking, corncob-pipe smoking individual representing the Whitefish Volunteer Fire Department. This is one of my favorite cartoons I've done so far.

What's Smells On Lion Mountain?
Like most of the other cartoons posted on this blog, there's really nothing funny about this cartoon, and unless you live in Whitefish, Montana, you probably won't get it. What makes this cartoon so significant is that after it ran in the paper, the president of the Lion Mountain home owners association came storming into the office steaming mad. Naturally, I ran and hid in the bathroom, and left the editor to deal with the irate visitor. It seems that some of the residents of Lion mountain were dumping their sewage waste into Whitefish lake and when it hit the paper, well, let just say that it didn't go over too well. There were a few, though not too many cases where an angry visitor would come storming into the office. For the most part, I kind of liked it because it meant that people were reading the paper.

Is This a Movie or Reality?
Several years ago, they were doing some renovating on what was then called Big Mountain Ski Resort. Funny enough, the name of the project was called "Plan 9" which shared the same name of an old sci-fi movie done in the 50's called "Plan 9 From Outer Space". This gave me an opportunity to incorporate my little friends from outer space.

A Solution To Whitefish's Parking and Heavy Traffic Problem
Though Whitefish is commonly known for being a ski resort town, it is also a very popular summer tourist spot. With Glacier National Park just a half hour away, nearby lakes and rivers, and plenty of hiking and biking to be had, Whitefish draws people from all over in the summer time. As a result of this, traffic and trying to find a parking spot in downtown Whitefish is a nightmare. But I believe there might a solution to the problem...

Chairlift Workers Come from All Over
Whitefish is a ski resort town in the winter time, and because of this, people or what ever come from all over to ski. To earn extra money, some of them take on various jobs like chairlift workers. Again, this was another opportunity for me to incorporate my alien friend from outer space.

Homeland Security
After 9-11, the people of the United States really became concerned about its borders and ports of entries. So in the years soon after 2001, there was a lot of talk about who was going to handle and how they were going to handle our Homeland security policy. I like doing clowns, and this topic gave me the opportunity to incorporate some clowns. Thank goodness for the Bush administration for providing the opportunity.

Invasion Whitefish, USA
Like in many other parts of the country, Whitefish has had its share of illegal undocumented workers. They come from all over the world, and some from beyond our world, to work for cheap. I really like to doing the outer space aliens, and I always tried to incorporate them in a cartoon when ever possible.

No Nuclear Weapons, No Invasion
Back in 2007, The Bush administration, was working so hard to find a way to go to war with Iran. The angle they were trying to use was that Iran was working on the manufacturing of nuclear weapons. It was spoiled when the American public found out there was no nuclear weapons program going on in Iran. Or, is there?

Obama Wins the Primary
I thought to the victor goes the spoils. Why then does Barrack Obama have to pay Hillary Clinton millions of dollars for winning the Democratic primary.

For $5000, the Vice President Dick Chenney went fishing with senator Conrad Burns in the summer of 2006. This was shortly after the VP shot someone on a hunting trip. Montana 2006.

MERRY CHRISTMAS WHITEFISH
This was the last Christmas cartoon I did while living in Whitefish, Montana. The beagle is the consistent element in almost all of the cartoons I do for the Whitefish Pilot weekly newspaper. Whitefish, MT, early winter, 2007.

TIME TO VOTE!
My roadtrip has finally come to an end. I'm back in Houston, Texas working as a web designer after a 2 year odyssey. One thing that has not ended is my cartoonist job for the Whitefish Pilot weekly newspaper in Whitefish, Montana. I've been doing weekly cartoons for more than 3 years now and I've decided to post some of them on my blog since my trip has come to an end. This cartoon is about how some people would rather stay home and watch the political advertisements on TV than actually going out and voting.
