Dog sleds come to Whitefish MT...by way of a truck? While the owner is inside the Great Northern Bar & Grill no doubt drinking a few cold ones, the dogs check out the view of downtown Whitefish from the comfort of their transportation. Notice the two sleds on top of the dog cabin.  Posted by Picasa

When winter hits Whitefish MT, the dogs come out of the wood work. Just west outside the town of Whitefish, is a place where dogsled tours are provided. But, sometimes, the dogsled owners pack up the dogs and head to town. Here the dogs check out the scene outside the Great Northern Bar & Grill in downtown Whitefish MT. Posted by Picasa

Me hard at work at the office. The Whitefish Pilot Newspaper, Whitefish, MT. Posted by Picasa

Here I am helping unloading Buffalo meat brought in from Yellowstone National Park. Some 300 buffalo were slaughter at the park in order to control the buffalo population at the park. The meat was donated to various food banks around the country. The food bank here at Whitefish, MT went to Wyoming and picked up a trailer full of buffalo meat to feed the homeless and the less fortunate here in Whitefish, MT. The food bank is right behind the Whitefish Pilot where I work at. I was told that the meat would help feed the needed for about two months. Posted by Picasa

Me snowshoeing for the first time ever. When my friend Eric asked me to go snowshoeing at Glacier Park, I just had to see what that was like. After all, it only cost $2. It was the cheapest 2 hour of fun I have had since I've been in Montana. Posted by Picasa

Snowshoeing in Glacier Park, MT. The conditions were great for the event. Freshly fallen powder, very little wind, and the temperature was tolerable. Posted by Picasa

The Middle Flathead River in Galcier Park, MT. Believe it or not, there are two Bald Eagles in this photo. Here's a clue. They're right in the middle of the photo purched on a tree. Posted by Picasa

This little girl is enjoying the white world at Glacier Park, MT. Fresh powder had been falling for days and was still coming down when this picture was taken. Yet, the outside temperature was very tolerating. There's nothing like fresh powder. Posted by Picasa

A small hidden lake in Glacier Park, MT in January. During January, the park is close and the park seems dead compared to summer time in the park.  Posted by Picasa

Whitefish Lake in January. Snow covers the shore. Bald Eagles visit the lake everyday I am told. But, the only bird I saw on this day was a duck. Whitefish, MT. Posted by Picasa

Whitefish, MT in January. Snow is everywhere. The ski runs on Big Mountain have plenty of snow with fresh powder being dropped at least once every two weeks. This is quit a contrast from this time last year I am told.  Posted by Picasa

Winter time turns the hills white outside Whitefish, MT. During winter, most of Western Montana rarely sees a sunny day. This photo was taken on one of those rare days. Posted by Picasa

Now the party is picking up. The office party is starting to go with co-workers Rick Hanners (editor) and Eric Pero (report) making the guess feel at home. Whitefish, MT 2005 I hated the name tags! Posted by Picasa

Gone Fish'n Party early at the Whitefish Pilot office. Basically, it's an office party. But, what's cool about it is that it's a local community gather consisting of the local elite and local businesses. Posted by Picasa
